Membership Requirements

Membership in the Canadian Socialist Rifle Association is open to any individual 18 years or older who resides in Canada and who believes in the Canadian Socialist Rifle Association’s purpose. You may apply for membership by submitting an application and paying applicable dues. The elected Central Committee may, from time to time, add additional requirements to membership in the form of updated or ongoing policy changes. The power to provide definitions for the terms used will be vested in the Central Committee, subject to majority approval by its members.

An applicant can be denied admittance into the organization, and a current member may be brought up on charges of misconduct on the following grounds:

  1. A history of expressing sympathy or support for fascism or other reactionary political ideologies
  2. Actively participating in exclusionary social ideologies including but not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and religious discrimination
  3. Current employment, volunteer or paid, as any manner of law enforcement officer including but not limited to police offices, correctional officers, probation officers, or any other titles by which a law enforcement officer may be described

If an applicant is not denied membership within thirty calendar days, and the receipt of their dues (if any) is successful, they shall be understood to be a full member with all rights and privileges entitled to them.

Membership Dues

Online membership enrollment and dues are currently processed through Stripe. Membership dues are $25 per year, renewing annually.

If a member or applicant is unable to pay annual dues due to financial hardship, they may apply for a dues waiver. This waiver requires the affirmation of another member of the Chapter whose jurisdiction they would or currently fall under. Please contact us at [email protected] if you are in need of a dues waiver.

Become a Member

You can pay membership dues and become a member by following the below link. Once your membership is processed, you will be sent a letter by regular mail containing a membership card with your name and membership number on it, the full text (in English) of our Charter, a welcome letter (in English and French), and a CSRA sticker. Please note that the name entered as a part of your shipping address will appear on your card. If you wish to have a name other than that on your card, for example if you anticipate having to pick up your card at the post office and you do not have ID with your preferred name on it, please contact us at [email protected] and we will happily use the name you provide.

We also accept dues via alternate payment methods. If you need to pay dues using an alternative payment method, please email [email protected] with your preferred name and shipping address to ensure it is processed correctly.
